Infants and adults!

OTOflex comes with a vast selection of insertion eartips ranging from 3 mm and up, fitting everyone from premature babies to large adults. Use the insertion ear tips to obtain stable testing conditions for diagnostic evaluations.

A range of special transparent ear tips allow you to fast and accurately align and gently press the probe against the ear canal without having to insert the tip.

Do you trust infant tympanometry?

You should – but only when tested with a high frequency probe tone! Studies show that a 1000 Hz probe tone gives reliable results for infants up to age 4-6 months. On the contrary, do not rely on tests conducted with a standard 226 Hz probe tone in this age group! Literature shows that in infants you can get normal looking 226 Hz tympanograms in abnormal ears and even abnormal 226 Hz tympanograms in normal ears.

OTOflex 100 is the only portable immittance device offering a 1000 Hz tympanometry probe tone.

Infants definitely have acoustic reflexes!

But you need a 1000 Hz reflex probe tone to reliably test it! Use the broad band noise stimulus to screen for Auditory Neuropathy!

Whereas early studies with the 226 Hz probe tone reported great difficulty to detect acoustic reflexes in infants, a 1000 Hz probe tone does in close to 100% of all normal infant ears!

OTOdiagnostics Suite runs stand-alone or as a measurement module under NOAH System and other NOAH compatible management systems. Use with NOAH makes audiometry data such as AC and BC thresholds available for display and reporting together with the acoustic reflex thresholds. OTOflex 100 tympanograms are likewise made available for use in reports created by the MADSEN Conera and Aurical Plus audiometers.

Plug any probe – anytime

You might well end up having a selection of probes with short and long cables for optimized test setups with your pool of OTOflex devices and possibly a spare probe - just in case. And yes, you can plug any probe to any device at any time without calibration issues. Each probe holds it own calibration which is used the moment you plug it! It will even remind you if it is time for the yearly calibration.
