The caloric test is the key element in the VNG/ENG test battery and caloric stimulation with water is the traditional, proven method. With the NCI-480, the clinician can feel assured that the stimulus delivered to each ear is exactly the same.

The NCI-480 water caloric stimulator provides a series of features that make the test easy, safe and convenient:
- Continuous circulation of the water through the delivery tube and irrigation head eliminate the need to purge prior to stimulation.
- The delivery head and footswitch each provide a convenient way to initiate stimulation and a light on the delivery head illuminates the ear.
- Special safety features protect the patient from the hazards of electrical shock and incorrect temperatures.
Integration with computer-based CHARTR VNG/ENG system
Only GN Otometrics offers integration of the caloric stimulation function with our computer-based VNG (Videonystagmography) and ENG (electronystagmography) systems. The program remotely selects the required warm or cool temperature. Test initiation simultaneously starts the recording and the caloric stimulus. In addition, remote controls can center the recording (ENG) or remotely start a digital video recording (VNG).
